Costa Rica is a stunningly beautiful and peaceful country that has not had an army since 1949! It’s also one of the hottest destinations in all of Central and South America. Bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean with just 80 miles between the two, Costa Rica is studded with volcanoes. The youngest…and most active…is Arenal. For all its beauty and endless options for tourists, Costa Rica also has great need. You’ll have the chance to help break the cycle of poverty and abuse for at risk children with our partners. This 75 year old organization provides day camps, a school and safe homes for children. You’ll help build and repair homes where house parents care for as many as ten children at a time. Enjoy meals with the children and help improve lives and living conditions

Trip Itinerary Day 1 Arrive in San Jose and transfer to your hotel Days 2-5 Service days in the elementary school Day 6 Visit Poas Volcano National Park Arrive at Arenal Volcano National Park and settle into your hotel Day 7 Depart for the cloud forest in Monteverde and experience the thrill of zip-lining through the jungle Day 8 Return to San Jose for a free day of exploration and last minute shopping Day 9 Transfer to the airport for your return flight home
