Ya’` a’t `e’e’h … literally, “it is good”…is the greeting of the Navajo people in their native tongue. Theirs is a culture that celebrates goodness and beauty in everything around them—the land, their livestock, the people who touch their lives.

But most modern Americans are shocked by the housing conditions on the Navajo reservation. Many people live virtually as their ancestors did … in isolated, rough-hewn “hogans” (one-room octagonal houses) without electricity, telephones, running water, or central heat. In addition, many elderly Navajos speak only their traditional language and still try to eke out a living in the traditional way--raising livestock, despite the challenges of their advancing years.

Day 1
Arrive in Durango, Colorado and transfer to your hotel. Free day to enjoy the beautiful San Juan Mountains and downtown Durango.

Day 2
Depart Durango after breakfast for Bluff, Utah, stopping briefly at the Four Corners Monument; then tonight after dinner enjoy a campfire talk under the stars.

Days 4-7
Service projects at the Bluff Navajo Reservation.

Day 8
Transfer after breakfast to Durango. Your afternoon is free for sightseeing or last minute shopping. Enjoy a final dinner tonight with new friends.

Day 9
Transfer to the airport at your leisure for your return flight home.
