Departing from the pier, your first stop will be Park Guell, a public park that covers an area of 20 hectares that features a ceiling with 96 hypostyle columns that supports an enormous square and its curved benches. Construction lasted from 1900 to 1914 and was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1984. The English garden city movement inspired the idea; hence, the original English name "Park." It has since been converted into a municipal garden. Reboard your coach for a brief panoramic drive to the Sagrada Familia (interior visit), Gaudi's most emblematic work (still unfinished) and the greatest exponent of his genius, which has become a symbol of Barcelona all over the world. Continue to Casa Batllo and La Pedrera for an exterior visit. Both, designed by Gaudi within the space of a few years, are on the same street and share some typical Gaudi features, notably the waviness of the exterior faclades and "scooped out" windows. Time permitting; you will have the chance to admire the Olympic Stadium before concluding your drive to the airport.
Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 1.5 miles of walking over even and cobblestone surfaces with 20+ steps. The tour sequence may be altered to avoid congestion at the venues. Time permitting, guests will have approximately 15 - 20 minutes for shopping at Sagrada Familia.
Transit Port: Many guests utilize the port of Barcelona as a transit port, either boarding or leaving the ship before or after their cruise. To meet the needs and desires of those guests with a little extra time in Barcelona, Royal Caribbean International will be offering a limited tour program, which will be available to guests who fall into any of the following categories:
